What Should I Bring?

First off, a trip to a corn maze is a unique experience and one that you will not be able to do very often. So the key word is to make it an adventure. We at the Big Horse Corn Maze feel we provide as authentic of an experience as possible in the pursuit of conquering the over 11+ acre’s of corn maze.

When you plan on coming to the maze, first check the weather forecast for the local area. It can typically range from a lows in the mid 70’s to highs in the upper 80’s+ during the month of October in Temecula.

Armed with a clear understanding of the weather conditions on the day of your appointed trip, the next step is to either recruit or drag a few friends or family members with you for this experience. Going through a maze is fun alone, but much more fun with others as you will have to “collectively” decide where you are going and what direction you will be traveling inside the maze. In short a corn maze is a social experience, one to be enjoyed and experienced for all it’s inherent challenges.

It may go without saying to bring comfortable shoes, a hat, and plenty of water (the preferred beverage of the Corn Cops). It typically can take one-two hours to do the whole maze at a gingerly pace. Remember, there’s a lot of back-tracking and getting lost. The corn stalks are generally over 7' tall, so you’re really inside a large living multi-path puzzle.

In the end it all comes down to having the right attitude, and the personal conveniences that make this journey as fun as possible. As precautions, we station what we refer to as “Corn Cops” within the Maze if you get really lost and need directions, or if you have other needs during your trip.

Where do I buy tickets?

Tickets are available both online and on site, no advance booking or group discounts this year.

When are the last tickets sold to go through the Maze?

The last ticket is sold at 3.45 pm. This is intended to give you enough time to enjoy the activity before we close. The last entrance into the Maze is also at 4:00 pm.

How long does it take to go through the Maze?

In general, it takes anywhere from 45 minutes if you power walk and know your way, to around 1.5 hours if you really want to enjoy the journey.

Is it hot inside the Maze?

Figure the outside temperature plus 5 degrees. The tall stalks tend to buffer the winds, so the air typically is still, likewise, a little drizzle just adds to the cooling effects for our guests on their journey, but let it be known, a torrential downpour is a buzz kill - so dress appropriately. Check the local forecast before your visit and dress appropriately. On rare occasions the Corn Maze is closed due to rain, check our Facebook page for updates.

If I get lost, what do I do?

We have inside the Maze stationed Corn Cops, they are there to assist you, and in some cases guide you if your decision-making abilities are overloaded.

What should I bring with me to ensure success?

Definitely some water, maybe a hat, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and layered clothing. This activity is similar to a 2-3 mile walk on a dirt pathway.

Do you sell water onsite?

Yes at the entry registers for those cases when you or your companions forget theirs.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, as long as you keep fluffy on a leash and remember not all little children like dogs, so please be respectful of other's space.

Should I bring my good attitude?

By all means!
